The sad future of the democratic party

Still,  I can't help but think, there were so many Republicans, established, well connected Republicans and big Republican media sources, all of which refused to vote for Trump.

That was optics. They voted for Trump, they told their partisans to vote for Trump. But it was expedient for them to pretend they weren't voting for Trump during part of the election cycle.

Quote:This vote shouldn't have even been close.  There were people who were convinced to vote for Trump that simply weren't being counted.  Where did they come from?  How can we convince them not to vote for him again, or how can they be convinced to vote for the Democrats in midterms?  PC culture, as it's being called, isn't convincing them of anything except that progressives are the enemy.  And unless we can change their minds, they're going to keep voting for people like Trump.

But the thing is Trump didn't bring anybody new to the table for the Republicans, in fact I'd say he shrunk the Republican base a good bit, what few minorities thought the party would work for them have been severely disabused of that notion since he started (in fact I wouldn't be surprised if the party invented voters for Trump). His numbers are the same as any Republican candidate would have gotten, and probably 10-15 million less than the worst Democrat would get in an unjimmied election.

The Godbothering Old Party went outside their ranks to win the '52 election. Ike rode the '56 election on inertia, but in 1960 the GOP went back to the fold, and lost. What goes around comes around.

Ah, the good ole asian canard.  This is a conversation I've had before, on these boards, lol.  Still reading from the script of usual objections.  Rathwer than run through the whole sad affair again...knowing that nothing that can be said about it will affect your opinion in any way - that you won't even recognize the hilariously racist assumptions and ommissions in that very post.........all I can say, is that the prosecution rests.  PC culture exists to provide much needed blowback to opinions and comments such as your own.  I suppose it'll go away as soon as opinions like yours go away...which you;ve just informed us, will be never.

/ shrugs.

-inb4 "how's that racist" - which, at this point, ought to be tattooed on peoples foreheads to make for quicker identification of subjects.

Typical, though..."hur dur Everyone who disagrees with me is a racist!". Usual Objection™ noted.
If god was real he wouldn't need middle men to explain his wants or do his bidding.
