Upcoming movie movie trailer discussion
I love to obsess over trailers of movies I find interesting.

I thought it'd be nice to have a thread to discuss upcoming movies that look intriguing to you, and what we expect from them.

I'll start. I'm a bit excited about LIFE with Jake Gyllenhaal,

Very timely movie riding on the Martian's coat tails. I think Mars, long thought to be box office poison, is coming back as a subject for hard sci fi because actual Mars missions are becoming a reality.

The in vitro creature is awesome the way it is depicted, I'm not so sure whether I still like the grown creature.

Life trailer:
I would watch a 90 minute movie of just the first half of the trailer- a montage of astronauts having fun, teasing each other, and doing some slightly futuristic high-risk maneuvers set to classic rock. Now, I'm not a naysayer and I don't mean to come off as negative as I'm about to, because I still want to see this movie, but then they introduce a monster and it kind of kills it. That's when I go "Ah, I've seen this before." At the very least the trailer should have been more careful. It asks "What would we do if this really happened?" And they do it in steps. "What might space travel actually look like in the day in the life?" Yeah, I want to see that. "What would we do if we found life in space?" Pretty cool, I'm interested. "What would we do if we found out it was actively threatening?" Still pretty cool, makes you run possibilities through your head. And then they show that it's a monster let loose on a space ship and it becomes a Sci-fI horror. I know there are huge fans of that genre, but the trailer does a lot to set up- not that. That's the moment I'm not curious anymore, because I've seen that movie. They're good movies, and I want to see this one, but as far as the trailer goes, I think they could have kept up the curiosity a little longer.
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:

"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay."

For context, this is the previous verse:

"Hi Jesus" -robvalue

Yes, exactly. That's why I said above that I'm not convinced I like the grown creature, in the third act the movie seems to turn into "Octalus 2: In space!", and I'm afraid that this might kill it. If at least it would have kept some of the suspense like in Alien. We'll see, we'll see.

Looks pretty good. I'll probably wait to accidentally see it one day.

Looks really intriguing, good for Arnold to go for some interesting roles. Thing is, ever since I had children, the lingering fear of loss is so strong that I can't stomach this kind of drama any more.

I'm a Marvel fan, so sue me.

This is interesting for a few reasons. It actually looks pretty good, when the previous two were garbage, so getting me excited is a feat.

When this was announced, the big news was it's going to tell the Old Man Logan story, so it was kind of a surprise to see elements from three separate big Wolverine stories. Actually that's what's kind of worrying. Will it bite off more than it can chew?

(I've hidden the three stories because it's both long and embarrassing.)

So, how much of these stories will be borrowed from? Is this the death of wolverine and the passing of the torch? Also, where the hell are they driving? And why is Professor X with them?

I came late to this thread, apparently - I was going to bring up both 'Aftermath' and 'Logan'.

'Aftermath', against my better judgement, intrigues me. Arnold is growing into his face, and he's got that world-weary expression that a role like this calls for. I can't shake the sneaking suspicion, though, that he's going to resolve problems by bashing them. Hope I'm wrong.

'Logan' looks like the Wolverine story Hugh Jackman has been waiting for. Hope I'm right.
