The stock market going up is just a sign that businesses and investors have confidence that Trump's administration is not going to hold their feet to the fire over things like regulations and paying livable wages.

As my old Economics prof said, the stock market is not "investing" it is "speculation."  Trading one asset for another in the hopes that one will go up and the other down.  Investment in an economic sense requires expanding the productive capabilities of an actual business.

The U.S. is overdue for a recession. The economy has been growing for seven years now. The average Post World War II expansion cycle lasts less than five years, according to the National Bureau of Economic Research.

It's gambling plain and simple. You're betting on the chances of a CEO authorising stuff which will rise the profitability figures of his company in the short term, even though this kind of thinking is detrimental to the companies real prospects in the long term.

It's no secret that the economy has done fairly well over the last couple weeks. And we have Trump's minions screaming saying: "SEE!!! OUR ECONOMY IS DOING BETTER UNDER TRUMP!!!" Even the Orange fucktard himself is taking credit for it. My thoughts is that it's still Obama's economy, but whatever, lets just let the Trumpies think that it's doing better under Trump. But I think we've seen this movie before? 2008 anyone??? Now, I sure hope the economy doesn't crash. But I am just wondering: if it crashes will they blame their Dear Leader, or the black guy?

The reality of it all the economy is going to crash because of wealth inequality and the fact of growing lower class. 
Then you have Trump repealing a lot of regulations even on wall street. The problem is and was the economy was going to crash anyways
all he did was shorten the inevitability of it. This economic crash is needed so hopefully someone progressive like FDR comes a long to fix things instead of 
throwing a bandage on a gaping wound.  Overall our economy is doomed and its going to be worse than the last  economic crash we have been in. 
Just waiting any day now for it to happen.  The tax payers like you and me shouldn't bail out the system this time i seriously will refuse. Id want a whole new
economy to replace this old shitty one. One based on green energy preferably because it will be better for everyone and we should have phased out petroleum based 
energy by now its pathetic that we haven't.

Look at India -- the wealth inequality and poor underclass is staggering yet they continue to trundle along. For all their riots, pograms and famines, the fundamental economy of India post partitioning has not changed.

Why should the US be any different?
