RE: AF Biggest Loser/Fitness Challenge-April 1 to May 1

I'm too lazy to do anything with fitness besides walking the dog around the corner while smoking... (I work a lot, so it keeps me in decent shape.). But, I do have some ideas. I do respect what your trying to do for others with this. I'm naturally thin so I don't really need to workout, plus as I said I'm too lazy. For those of the group who are trying to get a running goal, have them compete against the cyclists. For the people trying to lose weight get there height and go on the BMI and see who get the closest to the weight recommended by the BMI system. So, you would have to get another sponsor for the other category, If you were to use my idea to make it fair on the distance people and weight loss people. To make sure that no one is cheating as well, for the distance people every run or every ride, you need a fit-bit reading. The rules for the weight loss people would be a top down picture of them on a scale before and after. Let's say a member weighs 210, and he or she wants to get down to 160. After you have you reached your goal or close to it, take a second top down picture of you at your new weight or close to it.
I would hate to you see get scammed out of something for trying to help others. I hope all goes well for people tying to get healthy. At least The U.S is not the most obese anymore, were number 12 on the list one less thing to be ashamed of at least. (http://www.worldatlas.com/articles/29-mo...world.html)

Hmmm, good tips. I'll have to see what people are willing to do. Photos on a scale are less motivating and more demoralizing for some. I'd rather be scammed out of something little than make someone feel like shit. As for a fit bit, people don't always have those. We could come up with some alternative, such as a free app that everyone could use for any fitness goal.

My husband and I plan two weeks worth of meals for dinner and I have my breakfast and lunch planned. I won't be preparing anything special for weight loss though. My plan is just to nix the splurging on fast food and sweets.

You guys know the effect of figs in your...err.... intestinal flow?
My breakfast is always a sandwich and a yogurt... usually a 125g cup... I advise a week per month of this for internal cleanup!
Plus, I love figs. I remember, as a kid, climbing on a few fig trees and picking them and eating a few right there and then. yum yum!
Just remember not to stay under the tree for more than 10 minutes... it may start stinging all over!
And don't park your car under a fig tree, that stuff's nasty on the paint job.

Meal planning for me includes cutting down on the carbs. For nearly a year now I have eaten zero processed foods. If I want chips, I have to make them. CD gave me an excellent recipe for bread that I love and use all the time. I make all if my own foods but being Italian, I have pasta at least three times a week. I still have a lot to work on.

Well, to tell you the truth, when I met Robvalue, last year, I spotted a fig tree near his home and showed it to him... he said he didn't know that was a fig tree!
This is roughly what it looks like from below:
There is a fig quality which we call "honey drip" which is just divine...
Yes, that is sweet as honey.
But the other side, the side which is attached to the tree, as soon as you pick them, the tree's sap seeps through... we call it the milk, because it's white, but that's where the similarities end. It's bitter like heck... very acid... that's the part that stings.
Here you see that they put some of the fig tree's leaves under the figs. That's to catch any of that acid so that it doesn't damage the container, or the table. And we usually don't eat that tip.
You need to come to Portugal in the Summer to go Fig-picking! There are fig trees almost abandoned that we can just stop the car near them and pick a few figs.
