Trans people & sports

Again, I never said this. Please don't straw man me with this again. The first time was okay, but please stop accusing me of it after I already corrected it once. Some people here are absolutely being transphobic, but I never said you or the topic itself was transphobic. It always attracts those sorts in the end, though, and I'm just pointing out why it gets exhausting for this to always come up everywhere I turn.
I don't believe you. Get over it.

I agree that it doesn't make them transphobic.

Also, I was wondering how long it would take for Rachel Dolezal to be brought up in this thread.  Shy

Ugh.

I didn't straw man you. I responded to you then wrote a separate paragraph (the one you quoted) about people being called transphobic in this thread. Since you didn't, and I agree with you on that, that paragraph is obviously not directed at you. I didn't, at all, say you thought anyone was transphobic. Not even a first time, so I don't know where you got this crap that you corrected me once. You didn't even respond to the part that was directed at you. If you're looking for something to be mad about, I can't help you. I'm just here to talk about sports.

I didn't have a reason to comment on the rest of that. I'm sorry if I'm frustrating you, but I'm not mad at you. I'm not trying to fight with you, Shell.

Empathy goes both ways. There's plenty of consideration to be had for the other girls who just got beat in a very physical competition by someone who has a clear male advantage over them.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Sure. I just don't see where the "male" advantage is.

I'm not frustrated or angry, either, so we're good. Just hoping you realize I did not say you called anyone transphobic. You accused me of strawmanning you. I think it's rather clear that's not the case. Obviously a misunderstanding.

Great. I'm glad to have misunderstandings out of the way.

In that case we need to conduct a study before making the definitive decision. Logic, biology, and common sense tells me that regardless of surgery or hormone supplements, a trans woman is still going to have a male advantage over the other women when it comes to physical competition. But if there's still doubt out there, then by all means... a study would come in useful here before possibly making things incredibly unfair to the women who have worked so hard at their sports.

Shaquille O'neal was 7'1" 300 pounds, and athletic.  The tallest wnba player (from 2012) was 6'8" 207.

Unless the sex change makes his skeleton shrink, there will be a decided advantage.
