Atheists are not inherently bitter people. But let me get this straight.....
atheists are the most poorly treated people out there only because they don't
believe in a magical sky being. That being said how do you think they feel or react
when they get called evil, sinners or they belong in hell. So not they aren't
its merely a reaction to the negativity.
Atheism is a non-prophet organization join today.

Not bitter.
Not a believer.
How you doing?
But do you really lack so much empathy that you can't imagine why some brought up in a belief system which costs them their entire community to leave would be bitter? Try again.

Maybe the biggest reason why atheists seem "bitter" to theists is because there are too many theists out there who think it's their prerogative to impose barbaric, superstitious nonsense on others, by use of threats, discriminatory behaviour and, in some cases, extreme violence. When someone wants you to do something or believe something against your will, they most likely will lie to you. If there were only one thousand Christians on this whole planet, for example, you'd think they were all either insane, intentionally deceitful, or incredibly backward. But when one billion people participate in such a dogmatic belief system, it's somehow suddenly okay and worthy of utmost respect? Absolutely not.
Most theists are wonderful people, and most atheists are wonderful people too. There are also terrible theists and terrible atheists. I have respect for many theists. But you, a theist, should not expect me to respect your religion when it has resulted in the brutal torture and killings of thousands, possibly millions of people, and then threaten me when I point out why I don't.

Well to me people like Sam Harris, Richard Dawkins, Bill Maher and Julia Sweeney don't look bitter. To me they seem level-headed or funny. Is it anger you see, just a reflection of the emotion you, Soldat Du Christ, feel about non-believers?
Non-believers don't tend to burn people at the stake, persecute, fail to hire or discriminate based on belief.

If you'd like to know why we're sometimes pissed off about your religion though, there's a book I can recommend
If your question was asked in good faith, you should definitely read it.

I have noticed by looking at news sources that all theists seem to be homicidal Nazis, why is that?
Why do you think a belief in god means you want to oppress others, often by force and violence.
What is it about people having a belief that they think all people should have that belief.
See I can generalise too.
You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

It's an artifact of being annoying. Annoying people tend to notice that the people they annoy seem bitter.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

"You bitter?"
"Yup - bit him too!"
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Because theists have managed to turn basic human instinctual needs such as sex into something sacred that must be bound by marriage. As well as trying to bash onto proven scientific advancements and revert us to the middle ages. Those are my main reason.
