My scale is a liar. It told me last night I'd lost almost 16 pounds since I started losing weight.
I couldn't have lost more than 10. I'm sure of it. Now I'll have to buy a new scale, and worst of all, perhaps I haven't been losing as much weight as I thought.

10 pounds is still good!

I lost a few and then went on vacation. I don't know what it looks like since, but we've definitely been eating healthier.

Nope, totally possible. Same thing happened with me. It was seeing that and how effective being stringent about my dieting was that motivated me to keep it up. Of course the heavier you are when you start out, the more you're going to see you've lost, especially at the beginning.
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?

Maybe,
But I genuinly doubt i've gone from 172 pounds to 163 pounds in a matter of 3.5 months and then to 156 pounds in 1 month without added effort. Actually, even with daring to drink a beer once I get home.

Okay, you didn't mention what range you had gone from. But when you start out at 300 like I did, those shouldn't be at all surprising. So not in all cases should that be considered anomalous.

I've been very overweight for a long time. I have some natural tendency to be overweight but have been on antipsychotics since the age of 14. These drugs cause huge weight gain for some people. A change in meds has caused me to be more able to lose weight more easily. I've lost about 40 pounds in the past 3 years and 3 pounds in the past 3 weeks.

So now that I know it's possible and have been actively trying with the myfitness pal app the weight has been coming off faster.

My goals are to be 250 within the next 4 months. (I'm 261 now)

215 in the next 2 years.

And eventually be thin enough that I feel comfortable posting in the member photos thread. Whenever that is.

I wrote this long post congratulating you, but then the forum when down. Your post totally made me smile. Congratulations on your improvement. If you like apps to help you stay fit, try Nike Training Club. I'm fairly sure it's free, and it has more workouts than any other app I've encountered.
