You'd be surprised how hard it would be to spot a black ship with black sails and no lights on a cloudy, moonless night.

So I am pretty convinced that Arya is not going back to Winterfell any longer.
I think she was reminded by her encounter with Nymeria that she doesn't belong there. Her interaction with Hot Pie reinforces her lack of "domestication." She's a mess eating and gulping down ale. She's sort of surprised when he tells her she's pretty. She quotes the Hound with "Got any ale?" She's going to King's Landing.
