I don't know what link you were looking at but the link in this thread mentioned nothing about a kid being in the car. I did mention it would make more sense if there had been a kid in the car. But the LINK in this thread to the story DOES NOT mention a kid in the car.
She was not to blame one bit, but we are not taking about blame but survival. And fight is not always the best option to survive.
Unless you are under threat of death, and somebody merely wants your property, the odds are that if you give that property to them, you REDUCE injury to yourself. If you confront someone over a mere object, that is stupid.
Fight is an option when you are sure you are under threat of injury or death. Fight is stupid if the robber merely wants your property.
