Do you think there is something mentally wrong with those who support Trump

Mental illness is, to me, something that touches every part of a life, not just political or social issues. Calling a Trump supporter mentally ill is a bit like claiming that someone who likes to ski must have the flu. Moral issues, however, are different.

Which is why I don't have a lot of difficultly understanding the American Christian support for Trump. The moral claims for Christianity, with its blood sacrifices, a judgmental god and hell, deeply inscribed misogyny, and brutal lust for Armageddon and the Second Coming; seems a pretty good reflection of the abysmal morality, authoritarianism, and violence of the Republican Right and Trump.

Given that a great many of the people who voted for him are religious, I'd have to say that, in their case, the credulity knob is pretty highly polished. He isn't going to Make America Great Again™ regardless of what some people believe. We'll see. But I'll tell you right up front that the amount of rollback of the gains made in human rights in the first 4 months of his administration is appalling, and any other democracy in the world sees that. Well, attempts, so far. Nothing has made it very far. Another sick effect is the rise of hate crime. Are you religious people proud of what your fellow Americans are doing in that regard? Let's hear some religious poster's voices here speak out against that.
