Mylans "innovation" is to make a small change to the pen which makes it slightly easier to inject. What should happen at this stage is that the US patent office revokes relevant patents, as they do nothing to protect meaningful innovation (the rationale for patents)

This, and it seems to be in the industry.  Patent, make a small tweak right before the patent expires, get an extension, repatent or extend.  It doesn't even have to be a change in formulation, changing it's application can also result in an extension.  I used to take an expensive drug that had no generic in the United States.  The patents had long since expired everywhere else, but the drug was tested for and subsequently approved for use on minors, and on that basis it was granted a new patent term.  It literally was granted a new US patent months before it was prescribed to me, when a generic had  been available elsewhere for years.   To the best of my recollection.

I renewed my first aid certificate a couple of weeks ago.
We had to practice using an epipen, reason being that the stupid things are easy to get the wrong way around.
We had demo versions and we had to poke it at someone else, because apparently some lady had practiced using one on herself and when her son needed one, she poked herself.
He died.
So easy to do when you're in an emergency situation.

I don't understand why she didn't use the practice pen that comes with every single box of Epi Pens.
I have to rely on Epi Pens because of my anaphalactic allergies to all kinds of tree nuts, peanuts etc. Every single box I get from the pharmacy comes with a dummy pen that has exact instructions on how to use the real thing. There's no meds or needle in the practice pen and you can reuse it over and over.

I hate CEO's. And stupid people, in general.

Yeah, see, she did practice with the practice pen...on herself.
When the time came to use it she did what she had been practicing.
It's muscle memory.
You do something enough times and you can do it without thinking...and she did it without thinking.

And the rich wonder why people hate them with deep burning passion. The hatred of the rich can no longer be deflected onto the poor they are not the problem.
People wan't cheaper medication so they can live same with me i need MS medication if that shit gets ridiculously expensive i'm not going run out or talk shit about the poor.
I will talk shit about CEO's like that and funny enough i do have to use Epi pens but jokes on that guy though a 3 dollar box of benadryl is just as good in my situation.
Any other peoples position i truly feel sad for them that they have to pay a arm and a leg for life saving medication.


Also you know this is just a example of what late stage capitalism is. You bleed the works for all they have and more.
This being the and more part because life saving medication. We need to regulate medication prices in this country to keep them cheap and have the average
prices that Canada has.
