You're missing the point. You're making the assumption that bankers given positions that allow them to construct government policy are doing it because they have the country's economic interests in mind rather than the interests of their friends still in the private sector.

This, and given the pedigree of some of them, believing the former stretches credulity past the breaking point.

I've fired a lot of people with wonderful ethics that just didn't have a clear grasp of the job's requirements.
LOL. Nice non-answer.
That is my answer. I don't know Jack's ethics and I don't care. I pay him to change the tires and whatever else. He has a price that's as good or better than anyone else. He can do the job and I trust that he'll do that job as well as expected. He may go home each night and snort coke, beat his wife, steal his kid's piggy bank money, and molest his dog. I don't know that he does, and I'm not going to just assume that he does with no evidence or simply because other mechanics have.
That's fine for y'all though. Take someone from the McDonalds drive through window. I wish ya all the luck in the world with that. I don't want to be like Greece or the many others, so I'll vote for the rich guy that knows the ins and outs of business and economics.

You mean like being thieves who inherited money from their parents? Seems to me that is the model for the Trumptards.

I think we all agree at least that having gambling addicts around money or ledgers or checkbooks is a bad idea.

The job should be given to someone who has both demonstrated skill and knowledge with meta economics .And a track record honesty and integrity regardless of class . Mere wealth does not mean diddly when running a government.

I would rather someone who is not so financially buffered by personal wealth that they are immune from any meddling with the economy. Get someone who is poor enough to have an interest. I fact I think there is an argument for banning extremely wealthy people from all political office on the same grounds.

I would look for someone who can live within their means regardless of income, whose net worth is heading in a positive direction and who pays debts in a timely fashion, rather than someone who inherited a bunch of money, has declared bankruptcy, and is constantly fighting off lawsuits from creditors.
Sorry, Donald.

And I've fired plenty of people for being unethical.

So you don't give a fuck about ethics. Gotcha. I see no reason to continue the exchange.
