Have you ever lived anywhere else besides where you live now?

East Coast lefty living in a purple state. Not a fan of it.

Funny but now I have little desire to travel and none whatsoever to ever move again.  Give me roots.  Hell, never mind, I'll grow my own.

Validates that there is pretty much no conservatives on Atheist forums.

Myself, I live in my RV and am a full time nomad.

I know of some but I'm quite sure that like you they are not comfortable expressing it openly.  That's too bad.  I know some good people who are politically conservative.  I wish it were possible for those who feel that way to articulate what it is and why they value it as they do.  Some of us would like to understand both sides more fully.

Admittedly I do not know how anyone can hold a wholesome form of conservatism and still support Trump.

I'm not a conservative though, nor did I mark such on this survey. I'm only conservative compared to Atheist forums, which is pretty far left and suffers from a political bubble that they aren't even aware of at times. I said that same thing in another thread and was told that politics get discussed here from 'every side and angle' which is a total joke. How can that be if only two people marked down themselves as conservatives on this survey? (That was probably ATheist and Alphamale, who came to these forums to be confrontational)

But yeah, this isn't a very friendly place for conservatives. Sometimes they drift through and mostly end up quitting pretty quickly, only so many times someone can be called a cunt and a nazi and want to stick around and have a friendly conversation with the rest of the forum. I also think it would be a little more interesting with more varied political opinions on here.

No doubt these tough, non-snowflake conservatives can grow a pair and show up. Jeez, I've taken a good dogpile or ten in my day, and I'm just a weebly centrist.

When you consider the name-calling that the two you mentioned -- and Drich as well -- practice in defense of "conservative" values, it's easy to understand the knee-jerk reaction. I stamp cockroaches too, if I see 'em. And if the bug looks like a roach but isn't, sorry about your bad luck, maybe next time paint yourself brightly or something.

I do try to give every n00b the opportunity to make or break himself, but some things -- racism, sexism, authoritarianism -- yeah, I'll swing around and take a broadside. Such is life on the internet. You land shots and take hits. You'd think that tough-guy conservatives could hang in there, right?

The fact that the three conservatives on here are pretty much a step above trolls, and are here for the name calling (as you point out) just shows that there is no real conservative thought be discussed here.  The problem with saying 'I'll be nice to everybody except for racists and sexists" is that for some people the definition of those words have been expanded to such a degree that it's easy to paint anybody you don't like as a racist or sexist. I mean some people say all Trump voters are racist or sexist by default (10% of Hispanic women voted for Trump). That means that you can never have a conversation with one to find out what they actually believe because they are automatically in the category that you won't talk to.

You'd think that open minded progressives could have a conversation with someone they disagree with.

Well, my definitions of "racist" and "sexist" are pretty much standard issue. I've never said anything about "all" Trump voters, except that they served us up a shit sandwich -- I've certainly not made personal attacks out of whole cloth -- so I'm not sure how your reply is relevant to mine at all.

People are free to be as racist or as sexist as they want here, it seems to me ... so long as they can take the heat.

Conservatives can grow a pair and hang around, or they can search out their safe spaces -- it doesn't matter much to me either way, because I don't value the political content here much anyway.

And by the by, I've had plenty of good conversations with people here with whom I disagree, not because I toe the line, but because I deliver decent conversation.

I enjoy being called cunt nazi, I'd actually consider changing my username to that and I have never changed my username since I came on here.

I voted that I lean conservative and that I've always lived where I live now.  So I was one of those people.

I voted quite hastily and it might not be accurate.  But the poll is on this forum and I probably am quite conservative relative to the forum.

I don't know how much living in the same place has molded my views.

I don't lack experience in dealing with other cultures and places.  I think what I lack is experience in purchasing property, and then there's family reasons as to why I couldn't pack up and go to another country/geographical location that easily.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

Always lived in the same state, but lived in four different places within my city of birth before moving to another city in adulthood where I've moved twice. Only two of those times were by choice.
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?

---

There is no better way to convey the least amount of information in the greatest amount of words than to try explaining your religious views.
