I watched the new documentary on Bill Gates and in part three it turns out that Gates is really investing big in developing Traveling Wave Reactor (nuclear power plant that uses and "eats" nuclear waste). He gathered experts and they're all working on it and then he even made a deal with president of China that if he develops TWR he will get to build them all over China which gave him additional enthusiasm to develop it. But then came in Trump and with his trade war with China the deal fell apart.
