the slippery "F" word - my solution

It is not superflous, it is non sequitur. But it is appropriate retort to the often heard Christian idiocy of "I love Jesus, so I have faith in him", or "Jesus loves you, so you should believe in him".

right, but by giving your views on hell you give christianity more validity than it deserves, since even a simple statement like
"hell sucks"
from a christian standpoint can be interpreted as you believing in hell on some level

rather, how about
Quote:"I love Jesus, so I have faith in him"
It is your right to believe whatever you want, however I have not seen any good evidence that anything supernatural in the bible is true, such as jesus still being alive somewhere. The burden of proof is on you.

If they presist with the "but you gotta have faith" give em what I've written in the first post

Quote: "Jesus loves you, so you should believe in him".
Instantly point out that they are trying to emotionally manipulate you, and give em a counter example
"spiderman will protect you, so you must belive and trust him"
Ask them why they reject the above statement and show them how you reject theirs for the same reason
Have you found Jesus? If so read "the god dillusion"
