What a pug-ugly website. Though I love how they call Harold Camping a false prophet. All of them are false prophets after the fact - and only they and their followers are ever surprised about that.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

I was mainly just perplexes that a middle aged man would think something like that. I told him he must have failed his physical science class. There are just way too many of these folks walking around. Superstitious thinking and beliefs cause problems. I came up with a saying: "Unfounded claims to truth, when acted upon, have consequences." Like those idiots in a church in North Carolina that tried to beat the gay out of their parishioners because they were so-called "possessed by demons." They are on trial now for physical abuse and assault charges. I believe that Billy's daughter was referring to the church of America not the nation as a whole. She understands that God works with His people and expects us to deliver His message to others. She said as much in the article when she stated, "we should repent and share the gospel with our neighbors." (August 15, 2017 at 3:14 pm)Astonished Wrote: I was listening to NPR and heard them saying that Columbus used the Europeans' eclipse prediction method to trick the natives in the new world into continuing to feed and serve him until reinforcements from Europe arrived, threatening that he would make the sun vanish, and then went where no one could see him when the eclipse hit. The natives then did everything he asked. So on the occasion when an old-timey shaman or mystic managed to get something right, that's all they needed to trick entire civilizations into buying their shit. That is the way of Christianity. Deceiving others into their deception. Yeah, that's horrible. Personally I prefer the time the fire 'n' brimstone preacher in Ohio was giving his sermon with a thunderstorm raging outside, and he answered the thunder by asking what else "God" wanted to say. Then the church was hit by lightning and burned to the ground.

Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Lightning burning a church to the ground is far more likely to garner TV time than the same church suffering a massive sewer back up, yet which might your volon view as more fitting ?? The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Have you seen it? If not then exactly how can you criticize the DVD or the work done to show a possibility of what happened. If you haven't seen it you can't knock it and have people believe you know what you're talking about. seems to me you all just keep dancing around the bush hoping I'll give this up and then you can claim victory and all by doing nothing. If you do not want this conversation to go on just drop it, it's no skin off my teeth, it's your soul that's in jeparody. GC

Yeah, threats of imaginary punishment don't work on me. Why not tell me a unicorn is going to trample me to death while you're at it?
I'm familiar with Larson's 'work', to put it extremely generously. I've gone through it all before. So please don't tell me I'm avoiding the (non-)issue.
