RE: Damned Muslims
A child bride won the right to divorce - now the Taliban say it doesn't count

Nazdana’s divorce is one of tens of thousands of court rulings revoked since the Taliban took control of the country three years ago this month.

Hekmatullah had initially appeared to demand his wife when Nazdana was 15. It was eight years since her father had agreed to what is known as a 'bad marriage', which seeks to turn a family "enemy" into a "friend".

She immediately approached the court – then operating under the US-backed Afghan government - for a separation, repeatedly telling them she could not marry the farmer, now in his 20s. It took two years, but finally a ruling was made in her favour: "The court congratulated me and said, 'You are now separated and free to marry whomever you want.'"

But after Hekmatullah appealed the ruling in 2021, Nazdana was told she would not be allowed to plead her own case in person.

"They told us if we didn't comply," says Shams, Nazdana's 28-year-old brother, "they would hand my sister over to him (Hekmatullah) by force."

Her former husband, and now a newly signed up member of the Taliban, won the case. Shams' attempts to explain to the court in their home province of Uruzgan that her life would be in danger fell on deaf ears.

The siblings decided they had been left with no choice but to flee.

"Women aren't qualified or able to judge because in our Sharia principles the judiciary work requires people with high intelligence," says Abdulrahim Rashid, director of foreign relations and communications at Taliban's Supreme Court.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Thousands in Hamburg Demand Sharia Law

In a significant display of solidarity, thousands of Muslim migrants and Islamists gathered in Hamburg, Germany, to advocate for the implementation of Sharia law and the establishment of an Islamic caliphate. The demonstration, marked by vocal chants and slogans, showcased participants' aspirations to transform Germany's legal and political framework to align more closely with Islamic principles.

Fuck Islam and their Stone Age system of laws, who the hell are they to demand anything from the German government? Last time I looked, they're immigrants, not citizens.
It was a stupid fucking decision to let so many Muslims into the country in the first place. Now they get to deal with it.

But only one made sure that the Taliban would be in charge as soon as we did.

A percentage of less than 7% of Germany's population is advocating for Sharia law. Probably happen any day now then. /s

Taliban-run media stops showing images of living beings in some Afghan provinces

Taliban run-media have stopped showing images of living beings in some Afghan provinces to comply with morality laws, an official confirmed Tuesday.

A spokesman for the Vice and Virtue Ministry, Saif ul Islam Khyber, said government media in the provinces of Takhar, Maidan Wardak and Kandahar have been advised not to air or show images of anything with a soul — meaning people and animals.

Internet ‘vigilantes’ behind the rise of online blasphemy cases in Pakistan

Aroosa Khan’s son was chatting on WhatsApp but suddenly found himself the target of “vigilante” investigators who accused him of having committed blasphemy online, a crime that carries the death penalty in Pakistan.

The 27-year-old is one in hundreds of young men standing trial in Pakistan courts accused of making blasphemous statements online or in WhatsApp groups, an offence for which arrests have exploded in recent years.

Many of the cases are being brought to trial by private “vigilante groups” led by lawyers and supported by volunteers who scour the Internet for offenders, rights groups and police say.

“Our lives have been turned upside down,” Ms. Khan said, saying that her son, who has not been named for security reasons, had been tricked into sharing blasphemous content in the messaging app.

He had joined a WhatsApp group for job-seekers and was contacted by a woman.

She sent him an image of women with Quranic verses printed on their bodies, his mother said, adding that the contact then “denied having sent it and asked Ahmed to send it back to her to understand what he was talking about”.

He was later arrested and prosecuted by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

One such group was responsible for the conviction of 27 people who have been sentenced to life imprisonment or the death penalty over the past three years.

Blasphemy is an incendiary charge in Muslim-majority Pakistan, where even unsubstantiated accusations can incite public outrage and lead to lynchings.

Sheraz Ahmad Farooqi, one of the private investigation group’s leaders, said that more than a dozen volunteers track online blasphemy, believing that “God has chosen them for this noble cause”.

I find the idea of being "chosen" in this modern era of the internet to be quite amusing. Like when people say they pray for God to bring them success on some stupid MLM website, as if any God would be bothered to browse a website or to be concerned with what people are saying about them online.

Do they REALLY think God is looking over their shoulder, watching the screen. pointing and saying "Look what that guy said about MEEEE!!! Off with his head!!"

But, then again, religions DO seem to imply that their vain Gods require constant validation for their existence, so....maybe?
It will all be over soon...
