Why are Jews so rich?

In all my life I have never come across a Jew who was poor, was a single mother, was homeless or was addicted to welfare.

Are they a genetically superior race? I suppose the race that produced Jesus and his most holy mother would have superior attributes!

Any ideas?

You know, I strongly suspect you're a troll, but I figure I may as well give you the explanation for why there are so many rich Jews:

In the Middle Ages, Jews were forbidden from learning the more "honorable" trades and disciplines, like diplomacy, medicine, agriculture, education, and politics. Eventually, one of the few professions they were legally allowed to do involved money lending and earning profit through the interest on said money lending. They were allowed to do this because for a Christian to do so was a mortal sin, equivalent to anything between a lack of charity and outright theft (in Dante's Inferno, usurers reside in the inner ring of the seventh circle of Hell, Canto XIV), ironically for reasons rooted in the Old Testament, but, it turned out that there was a loophole that allowed Jews to charge interest because it was only to the gentiles who hated them enough to keep them out of any other profession.

So, basically, it turns out that keeping a group of people from working in any profession that doesn't involve loaning money and charging people, and giving them a virtual monopoly, ensures they'll actually end up LOADED in the long term.
