Just texted my sister in law and they are making plans to evacuate. Not real clear where to, though. Not much high ground in Florida.
This is one major instance where I'm hoping the weather forecasters are wrong.

They'd be smart to evacuate to Alabama honestly. It looks like all of Florida is in its path and unless they've already booked I don't think there are any hotels left in southern/mid georgia

Hurricane Irma just slammed into Trump’s Caribbean estate — and is headed toward his Florida properties

To all the assholes whom voted for him, do know that his properties will recover quickly, but the working class and working poor won't have such an easy time. Same with Texas.

According to USAToday Irma is so strong that it's registering on devices designed to measure earthquakes.

The god who allows children to be raped out of respect for the free will choice of the rapist, but punishes gay men for engaging in mutually consensual sex couldn't possibly be responsible for an intelligently designed universe.

Watching CNN interview a guy in Key Largo who is going to ride it out in his 50 foot boat. What a nutcase!
He said if it gets really dicey in the boat, he access to the nearby marina building, which he pointed to... and it's made of wood. Jesus Christ on a bike...

My brother, sister in law, niece and nephew in north Miami Beach played a real life game this morning of "what would you grab when evacuating for a hurricane?" and left for North Carolina. I think the worst part for them now is the unknown. Will their home still be standing after the storm passes? Even if it's still standing, what about the neighborhood and the city? Will my niece and nephew's schools still be there? My brother and sister in laws' jobs? Very worrisome.

Now they're interviewing another whacknut on CNN at a bar in Key Largo who is going to ride out the storm.
He's drunk and he just said "shit" so the reporter cut him off lol. He's a dead man walking, too.
I thought we had a lot of crazies here in California but wow, just wow.

It'll have a higher IQ, afterwards, too. Apologies in advance for those atheists living there. Just remember that you are the ones keeping that average number above 70, one atheist at a time.

Remember the brouhaha after Toyota announced that the people in Alabama weren't intelligent enough to work in an assembly plant that they had planned to build, and scrapped that plan?

Third edit- my "l" key is getting faky. Dodgy

It is going to affect my state even if it is just a tropical storm aftermath. I live in a very flat area less than two miles from the ocean, so unless things drastically change, we are going to see flooding too.

But if the hurricane eye stays just enough off the coast of FLA it could stay a hurricane and make things worse. Either way it is not going to be a party for anyone in it's path.

i know and damn im heading up north soon going more in land.
