It has the makings of a good creepy pasta.
I like the idea of the source being psychotic and we are the bits it cuts off itself.
Very dark and twisted.
I can't wait to see the movie.

So....you came and pooped a massive turd on our carpet for no reason, you don't even have a point to make?
The point was to share with people ideas that I think may help them. The point is in everything I wrote. If you don't see a point, it's OK. The point does not apply to you. Other people may see the point, and they will do with it what they decide to do. It's all good to me.

Since basically anything involving deity-like spirits and that kind of woo crap is an alternative to atheist thought, the thread title is not a lie, but it's entirely pointless. Unless the alternative is something that goes beyond something like rational skepticism and produces something even more viable than science, we've already either left that behind or never picked up that crappy baggage in the first place.
How about shooting for something less moronic next time, like "An EVEN MORE DESIRABLE alternative to atheist thought." That way you might manage to trick someone into thinking you've got something there.
All the crap about evil can be chalked up to natural things, no need for a supernatural personification of it or literal darkness within us or our 'souls'. Our reptilian brains, adrenaline, instincts, all that shit, plus mental illnesses, susceptibility to REALLY shitty ideas in our youth that never seem to let go for most people (case in point, the OP), it's not that hard to account for it. And knowing the ACTUAL cause of this shit is a great way to suppressing or minimizing the harm it does. Believing you've got a demon bat biting your balls and making you short-tempered as a result is hardly conducive to figuring out one's problem and solving it.
Religions were invented to impress and dupe illiterate, superstitious stone-age peasants. So in this modern, enlightened age of information, what's your excuse? Or are you saying with all your advantages, you were still tricked as easily as those early humans?

Maybe try writing a 5 sentence summary of the OP. I didn't read it because it was so horribly long. I tried to find your source, but couldn't find one. Where did you get those chapters from? Is it a book we haven't heard of or what?

I don't see mythology about some unproven universal intelligence to be helpful at all, unfortunately.

We've actually seen countless examples of it to be harmful, to the point of genocide. Don't let it off the hook so lightly.

I couldn't find it either.
It's amazing 'science' always seems to 'find' whatever it is funded for, and never the oppsite. Drich.
