Absolutely. We distributed many cases of bottled water during a heat wave this summer and we're aware of the need.
Day two, $200 gathered.
I have a line on blankets, gloves/mittens, hats and such in bulk. Back of the envelope calculations tell me $20 provides for one blanket, a hat, a pair of gloves/mittens and a care package with some essential personal items (toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.)

A good item for care package for women is feminine hygiene products. You'd be surprised how creative a lot of homeless women have to get during that time of month. I have 49 cents in my bank account right now, but I'll hit you up when I get paid. It's awesome that you're doing this!

I've got that in mind for sure Losty.
I've been incredibly fortunate that I didn't end up homeless at some point between 2008 up until about two years ago. I was briefly homeless in late 2008 but I had resources. I didn't have permanent housing until about three years ago, though again, I had the means and an employer willing to keep me on through long periods of mental illness. I rented a room and tried very hard to throw my life away. I hit the bottom, bounced off, and eventually got into an apartment three years ago and I now own a house other than the one I lost in the divorce.
I feel like I need to do this because most aren't so fortunate.
