Here, church officials reportedly determined predatory priests could remain undetected. Here, the church acted as an anchor for the communities, and the victims lived with the abuse in silence.

"I think the evidence points to that," Cruz told the Tribune. "Those who had problems in respect to abusing kids, it's easy to hide in the reservations; people won't complain much, it's isolated there, and there are massively disproportionate balances of power."

The Great Falls-Billings Diocese lawsuit currently includes 72 victims of sexual abuse by clergy members. Of those who provided locations and dates of the alleged abuse, 40 said it happened to them on a reservation, and 21 of those say they were abused at the St. Paul mission in Hays.

Min it was brought to my attention today that D.Trump flaunts a lot of "Mason" symbolism. Then I was told that the Upper echelon of the Catholic Church is indeed Mason.

Do you lend any credence to such hypotheses?

Masons are more of a proddy thing. Catlicks have opus dei, the knights of st Columbanus and, here in Ireland the Hitler Jugend Defence.

Another reason to make priestly kiddy diddling a sacrament ??   Areas with high poverty rates would appreciate the lucrative fee schedule for parents who offer a child.


See, with this plan, the money would stay in the area.  The existing system is subject to distant lawyers taking 1/3 of the victim's money (and they won't spend it in the victim's community), a sacramentalized form child sexual abuse would keep all the money in the victim's locale.

Except for the harming children part, this idea is really developing some positive features compared to what's happening now.  And since children are harmed with the existing practice regardless, I'm not seeing a down side . . . . .

PS- we had a catholic chaplain at school, he used to stride around in his long black cassock glaring at us with a face as sour as shit, he must have put thousands of kids off Jesus over the years.
BTW, half the teaching faculty were pervs but we couldn't complain to the headmaster because he was their ringleader, he must have groped the ass of every boy in the school (including mine) at one time or another.
Worst of them was the history teacher, he used to let his favourite boys sit on his lap during lessons, then buck and writhe underneath them like a mechanical bull..

I love it when theists point to other sects thinking they are that different. 

While the Catholic Church has had a horrible history of hiding kiddly fiddlers, child rape is still not an invention of Catholics.

Adult rape and child rape are about power and control, and unfortunately there is always a ratio of this crime in every religion and sect worldwide. No, nobody is claiming every religious individual does this, but merely that it exists.

This is why I try to keep telling humans of all labels, labels don't automatically prevent you from harming others. Our species behaviors, good or bad, are in our genes, not our labels. 

I do find it funny that you do this not understanding that sexual assault is not because a guy with a pitchfork is magically causing you to do bad things, but it is merely a crime based on power and control. Priests and teachers and baby sitters and dads and uncles and coaches can all do the same thing, and the concept of child brides is a form of molestation regardless of label, and are valued by the LDS and Muslims too depending on sect.

And before you go pointing fingers at Catholics I would suggest you do some research on age of consent to marry in America. And no, it is not always 18.

As for age of consent, that deserves a discussion thread of its own because some people might say it's fine for a girl to marry as soon as she's capable of bearing kids even if she's only a young teen.
