What would you do if you found out God existed

The death of somebody in a young age; or the sickness of another, made humanity a better breed. Taught us to be compassionate, because we can be in that sick person's shoes. Eventually; you feel sorry for the needy; because you imagine their pain inflicted on you. Thus; societies advance and good prospers.

If God opened the blessings on humans in this life; we'll end up with the Greek Mythology's scenario. Earth would've burnt; international  conventions of preventing WMDS and Chemical Weapons would've not been an option:

As the mother of a disabled child I wholeheartedly say this to you:

Fuck off.

I'd wonder why the fuck he didn't do anything earlier about all the anti-gay bullshit coming out of his followers mouth. If it's because he's anti-gay, then I would not and could not consider him good. If it's because he doesn't intervene, I ask why he didnt' have someone better record his stupid fucking bible.
"Tradition" is just a word people use to make themselves feel better about being an asshole.

I would never confront a mother when her emotions are triggered concerning her kids.
But I never meant any harm or any insult. But am I wrong when I talk about the ones causing disabilities to people using the resources they got for free since birth?

Maybe you're at a zone living in peace, but here in the Middle East lots of fucks are born with golden spoons in their mouths; using their fortune to purchase weapons that take off the legs of a child, or poisons the legacy of a poor woman to produce handicapped kids, more like Chernobyl for a whole zone.

I will fuck off; but I'll never tell those kids that they lost their life for nothing. My compassion springs from imagining myself in their shoes; in fact I'm in their shoes but it's "sandals" to me; I don't even compare to the casualties of modern warfare.

For me; in my belief; I won't mind being the lesson everybody looks at and learns from. Shame and embarrassment are in chasing the dreams of others; not in living the fact in front of you.

Yes; kids handicapped because of war teach us about the horrors of combat. kids handicapped naturally remind us how short life is and how lucky healthy people are. Poor people teach us about the pain of stealing and robbing. Mutilated bodies teach us that the industrial age has its downside too.

Atlas, Do you enjoy being a totally heartless, completely worthless bag of shit?  Because you're doing great at that.

You have precisely zero compassion, So I suggest you think deeply about this while you ride a seatless mountain bike down a 20 mile stretch of uneven railroad tracks.

I agree that what Atlas is saying is coming off as insensitive, but I don't think he means it to be. He is disabled himself, and has personally found a sense of purpose in it, of which he is sharing here.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Hey Joods, was this motivated by the idea that disabilities were a deliberate strategy for providing fully able people to appreciate what they have?  Admittedly that is a weird idea, but then what isn't when it comes to god belief?  It does seem like a unjustifiable simplification at best.

I have a heart, but I very well differentiate between blind feelings and applying logic on what I think.
The former burn cities; the latter save lives.

Savage societies was always emotional: believe it or not; Barbarians who massacred thousands of innocent Roman civilians were motivated by their emotions mainly. Theistic crimes that atheists always criticize is also springing from blind emotional behavior.

Eventually; emotions are nothing but a production of chemicals in our brains. The right mixture produces the desired behavior.

I'm not heartless. I'm realistic.

Whether or not it's a strategy, it's offensive.

"Harsh" conditions require insensitive reasoning.
Feelings don't bring back the dead; and tears would never heal somebody sick.

Eventually; it's hard work, logic, and solutions that would cure me.
I like a harsh truth over a pretty lie. That was my point; I agree with you C_L; I meant no harm. I just found a purpose in the condition I'm having.

But it's ironic; that the religious institution is always attacked for selling lies; but modern society is never attacked for doing the exact same thing under different labels.
A person who says: "everything will be ok" is a liar. The truth is that they don't know.

It's just personal that I hate lying. I hate being lied at; and I hate living a lie.

But I would appreciate and bow in respect to a truthful statement; even if it's calling me a "dick".
