The various interpreations of what is sayed in the bible comes from the fact that everyone perceives the world differently(not referring to a scientifical point of view).At the surface we all have basicaly the same perception but at a deeper level we all perceive the world differently(again, not reffering to a scientifical point of view).
Take for example the phrase"believe and do not doubt" wich I have found that is not written in the bible(GIND), at least not in this form .Personally I find that this statement referes to the fact that you shouldn't give much thought to questions like "Does god exist?",you believe it or you don't you don't need to bother with the problem more because it doesn't change anything .GIND: The missinterpretation of the priests led to the persecuting of science because they thinked that you shouldn't research the world, wich is not the case because if God didn't intended you to evolve then he automatically doomed most of mankind to "hellfire".

One might say that it wasn't missinterpretation but intentionaly wanting people to be dumb so they could be controled wich is a possibility.

And another cause may be that the biblical text is written in a way that everyone could undestand it resulting in different interpretations . This might have been a safety taken to prevent mass manipulation, but the lack of developing intelligence still lead to that.

Where are you from, notimportant?  I applaud people who are multi-lingual - I'm not.  But your spelling is a bit of a challenge.
Wanting people to be dumb so they could be controlled "wich is a possibility"?  Not a possibility.  A historical fact.  The Church kept the Mass and the Bible in Latin deliberately for centuries - and they kept the vast majority of the population illiterate.  The population had to believe whatever the priests told them.  It kept the Church in power.  This period is now known as the "Dark Ages".

I'm not entirely sure that it is atheists that has a different interpretation of the Bible in the way that we don't really interpret it for the same reasons the christians interpret it. In a sense I think that atheists read the Bible more literally than any religious person tends to do these days. Because in order to survive in the modern enlightened world christians have had to give up most of the literal interpretations, the values, and the stories in their book because they are so incompatible with modern science, morality and society. So christians, in order to stay relevant, have been forced to make up excuses for what is written in their scripture. Make up symbolic meanings and tap dance and cherry pick so that the bile in that book is hidden and muddled from view. Having to do that opens the floodgates for as many interpretations as there are people which naturally leads to schisms and disagreement which is probably why Christianity is so shattered as it is today. And they probably try their hardest not to notice that, like they cherry pick in their scripture they say that since they all believe in the same god it'll probably be fine in the end and such excuses.
But as atheists we can read the bible for what it is and call them out on the nasty things in it, which they hate and rarely have a good response too.
I think one could almost say that atheists and fundamentalist christians are the only ones that read the bible for what it actually says.

Considering the many (I owe this to vorlon) schisms within christianity due to how one schism interprets scripture as opposed to another schism's interpretation, is it truly any wonder that atheists interpret scripture differently than religious people?

How does the christian logically process schisms within the same religion if god was so precise and clear in his message to the people?

Furthermore, if varied interpretation accomplishes to divide, does that not cancel out religion's claim to unite people?

In short Christ said all of the law has been compressed to two rules/commands under him.

Love your lord god with all of your being. (heart, mind, spirit and strength.)

The second is to love your neighbor as your self.

Now because we are all alittle bit different. our expression of complete and total love to God will be a little bit different. For instance if I was given the gift to sing and write songs then my worship service would depend heavily on that. those who don't have any musical talent would then find themselves waisting time in a worship service like that. Let's say your group has a limited understanding of the freedom and grace of God so they tend to be legalists. meaning people who closly and tightly follow each letter of the law as their means to worship God with all of their being... They would then schism from the music lovers because their works and law worship would not afford them time to to sing songs all day long. Then lets say my wife's group can't sing nor can wrap their minds around legalism. rather she know and enjoys a more complete understand of the freedom we have from the law in Christ, and live and serves in a way that would cause a legalist to stumple in their faith...

Do you get it? the law completed is to love God with all tht we have. not to a specific bar or level of understanding. if we have been given more we are to try and understand and worship more. not all can some are left behind because their capasity will not allow them to proceed any further.
