Many of the Navy's courses (including that one) are accepted for college credit by many universities.

What I described there is the core content of the Navy's professional learning course on ships' buoyancy and stability. I propose that the USN knows more about the topic than you do.

How much they know is immaterial to the difference between concept and convention. I know entirely enough.

I'm studying Comercial Navigation , I saied that they are simple because we don't need to go as deep as a scientist but are a lot of things to learn like Navigation( Estimated, Astrological, Radar , Integrated), Meteorology , Ships Stability , Ships Dynamics , Navigation equipment , Maritime Law , Mathematics and Physics , is's like an all in one profesion.

Commercial navigation:  "The pointy end goes thataway".   Wink
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I ensure you that a Captain knows this things very well . Do you know the risk of an unprepared man on a chemical or oil tanker ?

The Navy has strict standards for advancement. The course was required for officers to advance and it wasn't a gimme. Seems they like keeping their ships afloat. (Or at least sinking on demand rather than accidentally.)

I'm guessing it depends on whether or not you're at the helm.
