Diderot was a little more direct:

'Man will never be free until the last king is strangled with the entrails of the last priest.'

Nah, it was styrofoam. "Beer Cooler Jesus." The irony was profound and quite fun. Nobody was hurt. The church did, IIRC, try some insurance shenanigans, because WWJD?

Odd that it didn't raise questions about god's protection and the futility of having faith in him.
The god who allows children to be raped out of respect for the free will choice of the rapist, but punishes gay men for engaging in mutually consensual sex couldn't possibly be responsible for an intelligently designed universe.

Yeah - with the Bad Bad Leroy Brown Chapel, too.  It's beautiful too.  I was there some 20 years ago before 'god' let it start falling apart.

Pays to stay out of fucking churches, man.

When holy places of any label get hurt by natural disaster, or even when they get attacked by rivals, or racists, and even in cases like this.

I always think how shitty of this claimed being, after his loyal followers spend all that sweat and labor to tell him how much they love him, and like a dog or cat when you buy them a Christmas toy, they are more interested in the box than the gift.

How many pictures of churches getting flooded, getting knocked down by a tornado, or burned down by a fire, or have some nut go in and shoot the attendants, how many times does this have to happen before humans realize their logic sucks?

The logic sucks, not human rights. I cant stop by force, people buying and selling this stuff, but please. To me when this happens it is like a kid taking a finger painting up to their parent, and the parent shreds it instead of sticking it on the fridge.

God, "Thank you for the memorial to me, but meh, my son's image in toast, and a touchdown in football is more pressing."

I DONT hate my fellow humans, I love liberal theists, I really do, but even with my fellow liberals, sorry guys, the logic just is not there.

Yep, that is why I say religious clubs are not my point.

Mosques and Synagogues and Churches have absolutely no magic power. The can all be flooded the same, burn the same, and be attacked the same.

Maybe humans are the problem and bad logic is the problem. If you want more safety inside or outside any building, maybe humans need to consider we are the only ones with power, and not old books or monuments to superstition.

But yea, how shitty of an "all powerful" Allah, not to protect a Mosque Muslims spent all that money and sweat on. How shitty of Yahweh, not to protect that Synagogue Jews spent so much money and sweat building. How shitty of Jesus to go "meh" when his adoring fans get hurt, even in a monument to him.

NOW PLEASE GUYS, I am using harsh words, but the "hate" isn't about hate of my fellow human, but hate of bad use of logic.

If I had a child who sweated and labored over a gift to me to say, "I love you", I wouldn't simply go "meh".

And I wouldn't blame them for something I am powerful enough to not let happen.

Maybe the reason floods and tornados and fires and earthquakes and even violent attacks on holy places happen, isn't because a sky hero is watching, but because humans falsely think there is a sky hero watching.

You and I, and most other atheists, know that.  But the moron class wouldn't agree.  Which is why they need to have accidents, attacks, or disasters in their churches pointed out to them.  Maybe ( just "maybe" now) one or two of them will start to wonder why their fucking god can't even protect his own house?

God cannot be both omnipotent and inept at the same time.  If just one of them starts to think that through it will be worth the time and effort needed to point it out to them.

Atheism can only grow one seed at a time.  Most theists are barren fields with no hope of ever facing reality.  But we can try to wake up the others.

Right, and when responding to someone specifically, I used it.

My original post in this thread was a comment to everyone who was acting like the OP was funny (including the OP), and I wasn't going to quote them all.
