You can tell how complicated the issue is, because the response has been 2 links, and 0 people have even taken a shot at explaining it themselves.

It's certainly not intuitive, but that's how they getcha! People are drawn to intuitive ideas. So things that are false, but also seem intuitive are always going to be popular.
