Should I tell my girlfriend that I'm an atheist?

As a true atheist, I stand behind my beliefs 100%. But when it comes to women, that 100% turns into about 23%.

I don't think that admitting my atheism to her will sway her intentions towards me. I'm more likely to screw that up on my own. But none the less I am trying to present an image from the core of my being that is nothing more than myself. I keep it real. So I want to tell her that I don't believe in her God (though not exactly in those words LOL). Should I just make the announcement plain bold and simple? Or should I just wait until it kind of falls into place? Opinions atheists. I trust your feedback more than I've ever trusted the Christians, even if you guys have more sarcasm behind your rhetorics.

I planned to marry a believer, a lady who wasn't fanatic about it, so I decided to get it out in the open. I asked her to make a list of all the things she liked and didn't like about me. When she had done that I told her I was an atheist.

"Now, please look at that list and see if anything is changed by that information."

"Nope, nothing."

We were together twelve years, married ten.

A common affliction.

Be upfront, remove any unspoken insecurities.  If something so paltry as faith is a disqualifier she isn't worth anyone's time.  Wish her good luck, she'll need it.  There are mountains of christian men in the also ran category of every woman's past..whose ever looked for a -good- man.

I married a girl from a -deeply- christian family a decade ago. We have four kids, and I'm still tryin to get into those panties on a nightly basis. In my experience, it's not a problem.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Is that like in Dragon Ball Z when they mention that Gohan's hair is getting long and Vegeta says " A true saiyan has no more hair than he was born with? "

To the OP: Don't let her ask. Keep her mouth occupied and it won't be an issue.

Say nothing until she approaches the topic.

Then tell her some shit like, "Oh that's awesome. I'm an atheist. It's so funny how opposites attract."

You could wait for the day she suggests you go to church and then say "fuck that shit."

A lot of people go to church out of habit.  Like drugs and alcohol sometimes they need help to break that habit.  If she isn't constantly pulling this "jesus this and jesus that" routine I'd say let it lie.

No reason to say anything unless she asks you.

And if/when that time comes, you don't have to use the word atheist, or say "I am an atheist". You can just say you're not convinced of God's existence.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
