It's not a partisan issue.

It shouldn't be a partisan issue.  But the driving force for this stuff is young white democrats.  They're the ones who write the think pieces and retweet the posts, and share stuff on facebook, and read the CNN articles, etc..  

They essentially set the agenda.  And when they all balked at calling for Franken's head when there was a photo of him grabbing some lady's tits, it was over.  It's now like everything else.  We want to hang your guys, and make excuses for our guy.  Something that shouldn't be partisan is officially partisan.

They did the same thing with Black lives matter.  It was all about BLM, but then the Clinton campaign decided to go another way at the convention, and Michelle gave the "America is the best!" speech, and young white democrats echoed the "America is the best" message.  And it was the end of BLM's time in the spotlight.

I don't think that demographic realizes how much power they wield.  Or maybe they do, but are just too stupid/irresponsible to weild it wisely.

In the interview Murphy tried to hold Franken down on several other allegations that he grabbed women’s buttocks while posing for photos, asking if the women are mistaken that he groped them.

“I am not saying that,” Franken replied. “As I said, I take thousands of photos. I don’t remember these particular photos.”

“With all due respect, people are going to find it hard to believe that someone such as yourself wouldn’t know that they were grabbing someone’s butt,” Murphy shot back.

I don't assume someone is guilty on the number of accusations only. I consider other factors as well, like how detailed the victim's report was, that this was reported to the police, and the nature of the response from the accused.

Exactly. That was it. Considering that this is a reputation-damaging accusation, if he is innocent, it is rather baffling he didn't even attempt to make a proper case for his innocence. Perhaps because he knows what he did and thinks it better to avoid the topic just in case he slips up and digs himself deeper into the hole.

Can we just put out there, without lessening his guilt, that Al Franken did not actually grab those boobs in the picture. It's clear he's pretending to grab her tits. That said, there is no saying whether he actually grabbed at any other point. Assuming there was no actual grabbing, I wouldn't give a shit if one of my guy friends took a picture like that while I was sleeping. Of course, I know them and they know me. So, it's time to step down, he's lost the support of his colleagues, and I'd like to think in his moments of introspection he's honest with himself about what he's done and how to make things right.

Shit. I know he needs to go, but reading Giant of the Senate, he clearly has some presidential fibre in him, but Jesus, the world is changing in regards to disrespecting women and getting away with it or considering it a perk of privilege, and its high time for it too.


I'm old enough to remember womens rights battles from the 60s and 70s, it feels like a suitable continuation of that process to castigate, rebuke and sideline the goddam gropers (and worse).


And in other news, it looks like Harvey Weinstein victims are sufficiently numerous so as to merit class action status in their legal fight against that creep.
