Best books debunking Christianity

RE: Best books debunking Christianity
I'm thinking in regards to all those 'inconvenient' Bible verses that current era Christians try VERY hard to ignore that many, to varying degrees, might be seen as having some inherent 'debunking' power.

For instance, Scriptures clearly describing Jesus as being crucified on Maundy Thursday and again on Good Friday are studiously ignored in regards to their inherent duplicative Gospel Truth. Most folks are happy with the Good Friday crucifixion and there is no desire to upset the apple cart, as it were, by discussing the Friday event was a re-do or sequel to the execution that happened on Thursday.

Lest the pew warmers start asking awkward questions . . . .
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

I, on the other hand, question the necessity of absolutes. I also consider nihilism a starting point rather than an end point *shrug*

Yeah if Christianity was debunked I would believe in astrology, aliens, spiritism and fairies like Dan Aykroyd because saying there is nothing there is dishonest and frankly I'm to weak to confront reality.

BTW not a book but still a classic read - Letter to a Christian Nation by Sam Harris. It's even available on youtube.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I cannot say that definitively, since I cannot exclude the possibility that some historic or current atheistic philosophy of which I am unaware avoids it.

Doesn't Plato's Euthyphro argument avoid it? Plato actually seems to argue the reverse: that assuming values just because "God says so" represents a nihilism of sorts.

That's just one of Neo's favorite things to say, who knows why he says it, I doubt Neo knows why he says it.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Chad can't function without thinking he is being watched all the time.  He is Winston Smith-ish.... without the rebelliousness!
