Sorry for my late night drunken rant. When I was in high school, the other guitarists always teased me for playing Kiss tunes. I mean, you weren't even cool unless you could play Yes Roundabout or Zepp's Stairway. They were guitar snobs.

A kid always invited me to a mansion in the valley(David Lee Roth's place), "You GOT is see this Eddie Van Halen guy play!" I never went but, when they released their first album in 78'(produced by Gene Simmons of Kiss), I saw what he meant. That was scary!

That release was after "Animals" and before "The Wall" so you can see dramatic diversity in the music. The Ramones made music simple and fun and I didn't have to learn how to play Eruption! Smile

Exactly how a concept album should be.

Either Dark Side or Wish you were Here, can't decide.

BTW I strongly recommend any Floyd fans to try to see the Australian Pink Floyd, very very close to the original and a superb light show!

The one after their last one.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

(As you can see from my post, the fav song need not be from the fav album).

Looking back at "Brick In The Wall" as much as I still love that song, NO, YOU DO NEED AN EDUCATION!

America has been dumbed down by McMedia like "Real World", Jerry Springer", "WWE", "Kardumbians", "Duck Dynasty".

Still like that song though. I think far too many who liked the song, might have thought "fuck school", but this was not about lack of education, but anti authoritarianism, not anti government, or anti education.

The two key words that says to me the song was not about anti education, but anti authoritarianism was, "certain teachers". That means the song writer didn't hate all his teachers, just the fucking power mongers.

HERE IS A FAN's edit with the full lyrics printed,  not just the short studio version. Proving my point.

One more side note unrelated, is it just me or does it seem that Metallica either stole, or paid an ode to this song with the chopper sound effects in their song "One"?

I lost interest in Pink Floyd when they put out The Wall and everything after it. I enjoyed Animals and everything back to the beginning.

I recall my parents listening to Pink Floyd in the den when I was a wee, wee child.
Usually it was late at night, and they'd be smoking funny-looking cigarettes.

Then Pop would yell "What...? Get out here! Go back to bed!".

But I like The Wall. (And I also like "On the Turning Away" and some other post-Wall stuff.) What's wrong with The Wall? I mean early Water's Pink is good. Lots of love for Dark Side of the Moon. But The Wall is a seriously awesome album. What makes this album your source of disillusionment with Pink Floyd? Does it suck? No. It doesn't.
