My favorite Pink Floyd album was their first: The Pipers at the Gates of Dawn, 1967(which I own) with songs from their original guitar player, songwriter Syd Barret, whom Pink Floyd kicked out. In fact, that era of Pink Floyd is sometimes referred to as Syd's Pink Floyd.
The songs I love from that first album, "See Emily Play", and my personal favorite, "Lucifer Sam", a song about a cat.

Hard to pick a favorite but "Wish You Were Here". Song and album.

Album- The Dark Side of the Moon!
" The Dark Side of the Moon was a commercial and critical success. It topped the Billboard Top LPs & Tapes chart for a week and remained in the chart for 741 weeks from 1973 to 1988. With an estimated 45 million copies sold, it is Pink Floyd's most successful album and one of the best-selling worldwide." From Wiki.
Favorite song- Time. Tells you that you can't wait around for someone to tell you where to go and what to do. Hmm, sounds like an anti-religious sentiment, now I think on it. I've not been good with authoritarians, if they ruled by fiat.

It's more like Syd left than got kicked out. I doubt it was in anyone's control.

Yeah, one too many hits of blotter kind of put him in a mental dislocation that wasn't conducive to making music people could understand.

"Dark Side of the Moon", played in it's entirety, for both questions.
IMO.

Your welcome to your opinion.
But IMO, I was a kid when the Dark Side... album came out. To me it was why? Who fuckin' cares? It was boring! I was diggin' Booker T and the MG's, The Chambers Brothers, The Moody Blues, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, BTO, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Montrose, Rick Derringer, Robin Trower at that time! When I was young, I saw live Big Joe Turner, Pee Wee Crayton, T-Bone Walker, Eta James! And when "The Wall" came out, when I was in high school, (along with Yes, Rush--cool to a point, Genesis, Journey, Foreigner), it made want to throw a brick! I could deal with Pink Floyd's "Echo's". But, how in the fuck is this, "The Wall", Rock and Roll? How is this even Pink Floyd? Yet, everyone loved it! Maybe there's something wrong with me? I got my fix at 18 in 78' when I saw Heart, The Runaways, Carlos Santana, Ted Nugent, Aerosmith and yet...
Thank GOD for The Ramones!

I won't decide between Wish, Animals and Dark Side. Sorry.
Like asking me to pick a favourite child (if I had any little brats!)
