Well it was on the assumption we'd still be playing a relatively good team, not making 8 changes.

You know, any other day I'd go head to head with ya and predict 4 - 1 in favor of Belgium.
But looking at our line-up, I think Belgium's gunning for second place, in order to give some R&R to the star players and to come out against a weaker player in the next match.
Something that has me really pissed off. In the world championship, you should try to win every match and give every match your all.
And who knows, next match we might get played home by Switzerland or something... We wouldn't have had a worthwhile match during the entire run.
Belgium v England could be an assuredly exciting match. Because you guys are good, but you are far from invincible. And had both line-ups been prime; it would have been a thrilling match. One in which I would think we could definitely win, but it would be hard earned.
Tonight... I don't know. I don't see it. Going in with low expectations.
Well, as I was led to believe by my dad, another motivation for yesterday's snooze-fest of a match, was the difference in stadiums; to win would mean playing in 39 degrees C in the next game, whereas to lose would... not. And being Brits... I doubt we've ever had 39 degrees C in our country... so our running joke of the game was along the lines of the half-time pep talk being something like this 'come on guys, just pretend to try a bit longer'

Great couple of matches today... France v Argentina was absolutely amazing to watch... was rooting for France (which doesn't happen very often ) since England has a history of getting knocked out by Argentina. Was hoping France would play well but not too well But they played absolutely amazingly. And commiserations to Portugal... who I was rooting for in that game. Apart from Uruguay's defending, Portugal definitely seemed to me to be more, literally and figuratively, 'on the ball' in that game... just couldn't get through that defence, or not twice anyway. So next game between Uruguay and France, with Uruguay's defensiveness and France's aggressiveness... should be great to watch.

Yeah... I'm sorry for you LP... I had you and poca in mind when I was rooting for them It felt like a constant feeling of being on the edge of my seat waiting for their next chance... and the feeling that just a few more minutes and they might have got it... cos it wasn't for want of trying and they definitely seemed to have much more possession than Uruguay, and able to get the ball off them most of the time.

They scored 2 we scored 1. Its that simple. And a team should not be carried on the shoulders of the captain.

Happy to know Uruguay is advancing. Not happy to know Argentina is eliminated.

I agree, today both matches were interesting ..
Although today I was rooting for the losers teams but of course hats off to those who won ...
Well, my favorites teams dropped out of the game hehe ... I wanted Portugal and Argentina to go a little higher ... Well, now I have though Croatia and Brazil and maybe even Colombia ... however, the South American soccer is the best!
