The cynic in me wonders if the left held off on hitting him with it until the general election as it'd give them a chance at winning the seat.  Rather than making it a big deal during the primary, which would have led to Strange getting the nomination, and an inevitable republican victory.

That strategists were happy to risk having a pedophile in the Senate to improve their candidates chances.

I don't know the timeline of events, so this may be moot.  I just don't remember it being Luther Strange vs. a Pedo.  It was Strange vs. some weird guy who pulled a gun during a press conference.
