Well, I looked at the election results so far. With 20% of the votes counted, here's what it looks like so far:

candidate votes %
Moore 136,652 52.5%
Jones 120,231 46.2%

I've just seen the results with 21 and 22% in, and Moore's margin is still getting higher (though at 22%, it's a bit smaller than it was at 21%; and then it got back up when it reached 23%; now at 26%, it's Moore-54.8%, Jones -43.8%)

The NY Times is estimating Jones may eke out a victory, based on precincts that have not yet reported their votes.
We're all still fucked anyway.

Okay, just looking at it right now: 72% of the votes are in, and here's what's happening:

candidate  votes      %
Moore       473,667 50.8%
Jones        445,776 47.8%

Roy Moore still has the lead, but at least it's smaller than it was about half an hour ago.

[Edit: now it's at 79% reporting and Moore is at 49.9%, but Jones is only at 48.6%.]

At the moment, it's closer to 11,569 votes so far (yes, it appears Doug Jones is winning.) Then again, there's still 10% to go for Alabama to fuck it all up.

EDIT: There is currently a blue check mark next to Doug Jones' name on the CNN live updates. Does this mean they've called it in Jones' favour? It's currently at a 12,803 vote margin.

I have never voted R or D but I am glad Jones won. I was not looking forward to that Vorlonian shit storm passing nearby on its way from Iowa to Alabam! Too close for comfort!
