Why does science always upstage God?

As with my original argument, the problem is not the evidence, it’s you and how you interpret the evidence. You aren’t looking for God. You’re looking for a reason for there to be no God.

And what about those who look for God through evidence and find Krishna or Allah or Ganesha or Xenu?

Is it not a coincidence that he looks at the "evidence" and just happens to see that one God out of the million he was indoctrinated to believe into?

And yet he calls us biased.

The Bible never claims God works like a puppet master, controlling everything. In fact, it’s quit the opposite. God is working in and through his people in spite of who they are. Gods word gets through to who He intends it get through to.

Actually, Bible does say that there is no free will and that everything is predestined by God.

Eph. 1:4-5, "According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world . . . . Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ himself, according to the good pleasure of his will"

Rom. 8:29-30, "Whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son .... Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called";

Eph. 1:11, "In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his will";

John 6:44, "No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him";

And so on.

Yeah, the notion of people not acting consistently with atheism is always one of the strangest things we get. It's pretty easy, all you have to do is not believe in gods..which, as an atheist..you don't..and you're acting consistently with atheism. It's hard to interpret it as anything more than the complete inability of some faithful person to accept that there are people who don't believe in gods.

The argument that it's an issue of suppression strongly suggests that atheists do, in fact, live consistently with atheism...regardless of whether or not there really is a god- for example. If you're suppressing something to the extent that you don't believe it, then you're already satisfying the consistency condition to a statement of belief.

Why does it have to be one or the other?

Because science isn't in the business of involving itself with religion, whereas it can be argued that reason exists for the sole purpose of being the divide between reality and fantasy.
