Which one would you rather be: Deaf or Blind?

During he past year, my sight has crashed. I'm not near what I think of as blind yet, but my bifocals sometimes ironically need to come off in order for me to see writing or other things adequately (it could be a glasses problem, but I've had them for almost a year). As somebody who already has massive mobility issues, blindness might be the last nail in my coffin, whereas hearing is something I'd likely not miss as much.

I would think being blind is worse than being deaf, but a lot of people get by with either problem.

I had to go with hearing.  Although I have heard, that hearing can be more difficult to be without.  The thought being, that it makes it more difficult to communicate, and those who have lost hearing become paranoid, and left out of the conversation.  But without sight, I would have difficulty working at anything close to what I am good at now.   Hearing would certainly be a hindrance, but without site, programming would be tough, and I don't think that it is good to find your way around an electrical cabinet by touch.

I'd rather be blind. I already have a hard time seeing without my glasses (very bad sight), so I know what it's like. To have no sound would be torture. Then again, I wouldn't be able to read until I figured out braille. Shit. I may have chosen wrong. Either would suck ass.

There are always audio books, but that's my prime reason for wanting to keep my sight over hearing. Too many books that never make it to braille or audio.

I'd give up hearing. You don't necessarily need hearing to enjoy music. Just have your brain play back the music from your memory.

But one of the greatest things about pleasures is exploring new stuff!

Plus, playing it back in your head never sounds quite as good. It's but an echo of the original beautiful aural experience massaging your eardrums.

I also cannot remember full songs in my head.

I mean, sure, I can remember full pop songs in my head because they're short as fuck. But I hate pop songs.

One of my favorite songs is 24 minutes long. I need my ears.

I would pick losing my hearing. Now granted I would probably go crazy stuck in my own head seeing how even now I need constant background noise but sight is so much more important in everyday life.

Taste or touch?

Now that is a dangerous question. Not having the feeling of touch can get someone extremely hurt. They won't know when they are scalding themselves on hot water, rubbing their skin raw in two small of shoes, or crushing their finger under a box. Anyone that doesn't say taste over touch likes to live dangerously lol
