RE: Peanut Gallery Thread for Explain This #1: Belief vs. Knowledge
I missed vulcan's suggestion earlier that there be a clear deadline for posting answers and kudoses. So let's set the deadline to Jan 15, 23:59 UTC. I will have to look through the overall history of kudoses to see the exact time and date of each kudos given (that might get tedious, and if so, perhaps I'll be lenient with the kudos deadline, but we'll see).

DLJ's answer is the most comprehensive thus far, and very informative, so I will go give it a kudos very soon, even if I don't see it as the best answer necessarily.

I like TwoKnives' answer as well, btw. Or rather the kind of effort he put into it (4 criteria approach).

Also, next one will be on the Mandela's Effect. Start researching from now if you interested.

I would say knowledge means it is a 100% obvious/ proven fact. Like, I have knowledge that I am female. The grass is green. 2+2=4. Etc.

Belief is when it is not 100% proven fact. I believe my husband loves me, I believe God exists, I believe we evolved from apes, etc.

I would say that there's two kinds of knowledge: Relative and absolute.

If it's not 100% known then it's relative knowledge. If it is 100% known then it is absolute knowledge. (I've pondered all this before).

Does this make sense?
