Does anyone else feel disgusted by religious words?

There is only one word that truly disgusts me. And it’s ‘broken’, when used to describe people. Religious context or not, never fails to get my blood boiling in a second.

I tend not to get upset at religious phrases, like others have said unless it comes with the implication that it's reflecting a spiritual/god relationship state.

I'm not concerned at all if someone greets me with a Merry Christmas or Happy Hanukkah, or a peaceful greeting during Eid, I don't have any problems joining in any persons peace. I'm even okay with an offer of prayer, or a 'bless you'.

Like others have said it's when terms like fallen, sinner, broken, unsaved are used to describe a possible spiritual state, then i feel the person has no right.
I wish they would learn to build rather than break.

Its association. What it makes me think of when i hear it.

Why don't they just say, "Isn't my new vest just dynamite!?".  That's not the only time it is ever said, but the association (stereotype) is made strong for the suicide bomber instance.

It's not the words but the concepts which are more silly than disgusting.

The only time I'm disgusted with hearing religious words is when they're in places they don't belong - like my kid's public school (that's a big hell no) or, for example, prayers by government officials during official meetings.

I couldn't give a crap about religious words; it's their deeds that often disgust me.

Words associated with Chrisitianity (for example God, Jesus, Church, cross), Islam (Allah, Coran, Mohammed, mosque) and with Judaism (synagogue, Moses, Noah's ark) make me feel disgusted. Everytime I hear, spell or think about them it literally makes me sick to my stomach, luckily never to the point of throwing up.
Words from Non-abrahamic religions disgust me less, but I still dislike many of them. 
This will make the moment when I'll come out as atheist to my family hard, because I'll have to hear and spell these words. My family members will try to convince me to return to the faith, so they'll use these words and I'll have to explain them why I don't want to return, so I'll have to use these words.
Could I use the fact that I'm disgusted by religious words as an argument when I'll come out of the closet?

No.  How can you be disgusted by words?  I've got a mate called 'Moses', he's not disgusting.  There's a church at the nearest intersection to my house, nothing disgusting there.

I don't feel disgusted by normal people with biblical names, it's the biblical characters I dislike. Sometimes I feel a little uncomfortable when meeting people with biblical names, but then I remember that Kim is a pretty popular name and Kim Jong-un is a dictator and Kim Kardashian is who she is. I don't think there is a firstname that isn't associated with bad people, your name doesn't make you a bad person. Also, many biblical names existed before the Bible, so they aren't entirely tied to it.

I'm English, we curse and use 'profanity' a lot. I lived in Texas for six years and was often pulled up on it by religious friends, until they got drunk and fucked around and swore.

People assimilate to the culture they absorb and divert when it's convenient for their personal comfort and experience. Religion has fuck all to do with it. Pastors, vicars, Puritans or heathens.

Life is a journey, religion or lack-of has little to do with how people go through it; social conditioning controls some more than others.
