I actually prefer to talk about religions with atheists, which might explain why I'm on atheist forums..rather than Irowthisboatforjesus.com.

I find that I can more easily have those conversations about interesting religions and trends in religion with people who aren't itching to praise allah every third word...and who can accept a baseline of demonstrable facts as reality, rather than retreat into d&d geekdom as though it were the fabric of the cosmos.

Recall, Banned, you came here...I didn't show up at your church and slap the dick out of your mouth. I'm not fishing for men or handing out god-porn pamphlets.

It would be a deliciously ironic world if the irreligious knew more about religion, and could comment on religion more knowledgeably than the religious......oh, wait...this is such a world.  It's almost as if believing in a religion is a demonstrable obstacle to -learning- about that religion.
