The U.S. has taken in half of the world's refugees in the last 100 years. The immigration laws of Norway are way strict, just like the day to day laws. A drivers license there is 3000 dollars and the state can take it away for speeding with no ability to appeal. 5 million people is not crowded for a country the size of Norway. UK has 60 million or something.

Personally, knowing a fair bit about how things work in Norway from my Noweigan friends and a Czech friend who works there, I'll take the U.S. people who glorify Norway need to know that they are backing up their socialism with heavy immigration control, protectionism and resource extraction.

Remember, Norway is socialist, so that makes having better medical care, better schools, longer lives all terrible things.   What's worse, they take the revenue from extraction of their natural resource - north sea oil and gas - and put it into a sovereign wealth fund and national pension fund, instead of giving them to a few exploitative corporations and a few fat cats.  I mean why would you not want to leave a hell on earth like that?

Norway is not going to take in people from Haiti.  They only took in 2000 Syrians last year, compared to the Swedes, who took in 160,000.
