Also, how the fuck are you failing to see this? Girl says it wasn't consensual. He says it was. That's a fucking refutation. It's there, homey. Plain as the nose on your face. I'm baffled you're not picking that up. Because...and this is the last time I;ll re-explain this...I am referring to an account of events, not their characterization as consensual or meaningfully not. I think we all obviously understand that this is the point of contention between the two positions...but nowhere is any point of contention on the events - themselves- referenced or made. Ansari apologizes for "misreading" the situation. He doesn;t say he didn;t follow her around the room applying the claw..or that he didn;t jab tha back of her head with his dick..etc etc etc. He said he thought she was into it..that it was, by all accounts, consensual. (another thing we're not supposed to say, ofc). His "by all accounts" must necessarily exclude her own, ofc.....
All of which his pr team would likely have suggested he respond to..even if it was to say, simply and classily, that none of the salacious details reported are true... if they were wholly untrue.

Yeah, probably, lol. Or, maybe, if you're Aziz Ansari... ever.

Haha yeah he did let his freak flag fly, didn't he?
I can't imagine a guy saying/doing those things to me on a first date. It's one thing if it's someone you have a relationship with, but another when it's a random dude. Gross.

Letting the freak flag flag might be a new euphimism for soft assault. It's strange, I manage to fly mine and still avoid maybe-raping anybody.

Yes. And??
Sexual assault is an all-encompassing term that is NOT LIMITED to rape.
It also includes groping/forcible touching, sexual coercion, sexual harassment, stalking and other forms of unwanted sexual contact.
Quote:As far as I've seen, everyone here agrees that Aziz is a creep and was very much in the wrong to have pressured her and been pushy and inconsiderate. We just don't agree with her accusation of him having assaulted her.
So you AGREE that he was very much in the wrong to have "pressured her" and to have been "pushy", but you DON'T agree with her accusation of him having sexually assaulted her?
Well guess what, CL?
If he pressured, pushed, or coerced her into sexual activity AND/OR forced sexual contact at any point during that evening, then he in fact, DID commit sexual assault, as defined by law.
Quote:Bottom line: He was wrong to have pressured her. She was wrong to have made this story public in accusation of him having sexually assaulted her.
If things went down as she says they did....and again, Mr. Ansari isn't disputing her account of what happened, including her statement about not wanting to feel forced; his only dissent has been that he thought she was "cool with it all"....then I believe she was justified in speaking the TRUTH and exposing this "fierce ally" and "dedicated advocate" for being the FRAUD that actually he is.
Going by the article, he didn't force. He pressured. From what I understand pressuring for sex does not fall under the crime of sexual assault. I've had ex boyfriends/flings pressure me, test boundaries, etc, because I refused to go beyond kissing. They're shitty and what they did is shitty and unacceptable, and im glad that it's being talked about. But it isn't a crime.

Well, Holy guacamole.

Going by the article...he keeps feeling her up even as she pushed his hand away repeatedly. She vocally indicated multiple times -and- by body language that she wasn't down to fuck..and he wasn't taking no for an answer.
-but run with it. Lets call him not a rapist because why not - it;s not as if he;s had a trial and been convicted. He was shitty and what he did was shitty. That's why it's causing so much discomfort in the present fiasco of sexual assault allegations. The brits called it months ago..they told us that the gates having been opened, we were about to discover that alot of people we really enjoyed on the teevees were going to be outed as creepy ass creepers.

He didn’t say he did either.
You are reading way too much into a short statement that was probably composed with the help of a publicist and/or lawyer.

Haha, all the guy says is they had consensual sexual relations, and y'all are like, "He didn't go through it line by line refuting every specific in a 3,000-word article. GUILTY!"
If what is in that article is sexual assault "by law," then let's see what would happen in court. (Waits for the token male privilege argument, as if no man has ever been accused of something he didn't do.)

It's okay to infer whatever you want, as long as you don't do it to her statement.
