Trust me, if it was the likes of Tazzicon, Succubus, or Astonished saying this, I wouldn't care one bit. I'd actually have a good chuckle, as I usually do when they spew their obnoxious BS my way. But it's upsetting to me in this instance because it's coming from someone I've respected and interacted with on a personal level.

But to be fair someone can reasonably feel that catholics espousing catholic values are serving to promote the catholic worldview, whether they mean to or not. I mean, English is pretty flexible that way.

Sure, by promoting their own worldview, which is what we all do. Sometimes, religious worldviews are despicable, and I understand the frustration with them. When it comes to sex and porn, plenty of people have the same view without it being religious, but that's neither here nor there. In order to maintain my own integrity, I'm only going to comment on this as far as what I think of Catholic Lady, not how she was interpreted by him.

Those values weren't even exclussively Catholic. It would be like me going on a thread about a man killing the wife he cheated on and stole from, and saying "Murder, stealing, and adultery are wrong. We should promote respect for people and for human life," ... and getting accused of trying to advance Catholicism lol.

Yeah -values and ideals are interesting in the sense that some of them overlap a lot of different religions and even atheism. For example: I have been taught that it's not okay to harm other people. Is it a generalized ideal? You bet it is. Is it exclusive to one religion or to atheism? Nope. The exact same thing can be applied to just about any ideal or value. They are called shared ideals and values and they are far more common than some people think.
Know what? CL is my friend and I'm just going to come right out and say it, because this is just ignorance at its highest level.
Honestly, I don't understand when the venomous hatred started against CL but accusing her of furthering her religion's agenda based on what she said in her first post in this thread, is just utterly stupid and ridiculous. For fucks sake man, she didn't even mention religion at all. Making such comments as was made is just truly pathetic and over reaching to the point that I can certainly understand why CL was so upset about it. And if the accusations are going to continue, when clearly, they are uncalled for, then perhaps a stick needs to be removed from the ass of the accuser and they need to grow the fuck up. My respect for said individual is quickly diminishing.
Time to man up, put your pride aside and apologize for the horrible way that you have treated someone who has regarded you as a close friend.

I don’t see how her post was promoting a catholic agenda, but I also don’t see how thump saying so is so horrible that it merits an apology. Maybe I’m missing something. I mean, I disagree with her on her porn and sex views, and I disagree that she talks about it to promote an agenda. Disagreements happen. Where’s the horrible part?
