Understand, Wyrd, that for these girls, once they reached Olympic level, the parents weren't even allowed back in the room with him. And again - reports were made. Sad that no one took the girls seriously enough until recently. And no matter how YOU try to spin this - the man wrote a disgusting and appalling letter to the judge. Perhaps you should look online for the contents of that letter. Clearly, it showed that he has ZERO remorse for anything that he did to those girls and he still hasn't learned from his actions.

Oh and here's another thing: For anyone that didn't watch the sentencing on tv, it was also mentioned that Larry Nassar didn't even have a medical license. He was practicing medicine when he didn't have the right to do so.

Thanks for the information.  I didn't follow the case in real time.  It's still a classic case of hysterical BS and the guy did have some shitty lawyers.  His medical license was revoked for three years April 6, 2017.  And one girl did say that her mother was in the room when the guy supposedly assaulted her but that he ws blocking her mother's view of what was going on.  As I said, the child porn case worked against him but from a legal pov it was stupid of him to have pled guilty to the sexual assault charges, considering that the FBI had previously conducted an investigation into the allegations and found no wrong doing.

One: a girl did tell her father and he didn't believe her. Later when it came out that she was telling the truth the father committed suicide.

Two: Rape isn't just using a dick. Some legit doctors need to feel things inside a woman using their hands. There could easily be more than a few women and parents that thought he was legit checking something medical when he was just assaulting them. We want to trust our doctors and it's easy to see that the girls could be traumatized by something he claimed was medically necessary and then they feel stupid and ashamed for being so 'sensitive' to something they were told was normal.

Three: even if they could tell from a mile away that what he was doing was bad the power an adult has over a teenager is incredible. If threatened by someone they trust most victims shut down during the assault and then program themselves to have a mask of happiness in front of others.

Four: As an assault victim you turn it around on yourself and convince yourself that ruining your life isn't worth it. No one ever believes you and all you will end up with is the pain of hearing people tell you that you are lying. Add in that being a Olympian is a life style and one little thing could ruin a career I could see why they wouldn't risk someone not believing them.

Even the FBI didn't think the doctor had committed any crimes when they investigated him.  So they must be jerkoffs.  Now go lynch someone and then have a nice lunch and a cold beer.

It is absolutely draining, and it's kind of shaken me in a way, because I had known Katie, their assistant coach in that time, and it made me wonder if she's somehow guilty of something. It just amazes me how people can work alongside (kind of, I guess) him and not have some inkling of what is going on.

Sweetheart please don't think like that. Bad people are skilled at being deceptive and hiding behind charisma. Do you know how many times I've heard "There's no way he really did that, he was such a great guy!"? When in fact his two faced personality allowed him to be Mr Charming and the devil reincarnated. My mother slept next to my attacker for four years and she never knew something was up. I don't blame her one bit.
