I'm hoping you're right.

I suspect, however, that one will try and then sue his employers over any disciplinary action while citing this law.

And if that happens, it could open the floodgates.

Unfortunately there are a lot of quacks in medicine.

I've never heard of a doctor refusing treatment to a patient on the grounds that the patient is gay or black or whatever else. And if one did and tried to cite this law, I highly doubt it would work. No one will take seriously a doctor who refuses to give his patient medical care due to their sexuality. I don't see this being an issue, to be honest. Seems this thread is a bit misleading/an over reaction.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

People easily forget there was a time when black people weren't accepted at white hospitals.
"Tradition" is just a word people use to make themselves feel better about being an asshole.

Yeah there's no way that's gonna happen again.

"Once upon a time" people refused to bake a gay cake....and that was taken "seriously" enough to warrant a supreme court case.  "Once upon a time" an employer didn;t want to have to shell out for a health plan with slut pills......that also made it to SCOTUS.   They won.  They then took all that saved slut pill money and built a bible museum by smuggling in looted artifacts from a warzone...because they have strong moral principles and shit.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

You were responding to my post to her, so I thought it was relevant. In the broader sense, obv. not.

Quote:I'd be very surprised if "Dentist refuses to clean homosexual teeth" is either the intention or allowable.

Yeah,  I'm pretty sure there's no such thing as 'homosexual teeth'.  And if there were, how would you tell - show a tooth a picture of a really cute tooth of the same gender, and see if it gets turned on?  Ask a tooth about its interior design skills? Try to find out if the tooth subscribes to 'Big Dentin Studs In Leather Quarterly'?

I don't see what this could be for except to discriminate. What right is it that they don't already have that they want?

I find it interesting that the discussion seems to be limited to physicians. The laws and enforcement apply to all of health care.

Think about an EMT, all of the staff at an ER.

I highly doubt this will turn into doctors legitimately being allowed to refuse to treat a patient based on the patient's orientation/faith/politics..
