God is so quiet

I bet you think that you're doing it "his way"...so, have you gotten a call from the big guy recently?  What was the last thing you and god chatted about...and did you hear it on the right..left, or in stereo.  Was it a masculine voice, or a feminine voice?  Does it speak to you as a disembodied voice, over the phone, through the toaster...what?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Poor deity. I can't say I blame him. I'd keep a conspicuously low profile too if I had friends and followers such as his.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

God is whatever you want him to be. That's the truth, isn't it?

Sure and the truth is maybe you should not be so demanding of god because he himself said he is not all powerful, he has limitations. Like Judges 1.19 "And the LORD was with Judah; and he drove out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron."

You clearly see that god can be stopped with chariots of iron, so that's why he "just stands there in the corner watching us" (as you put it) because he is waiting for us to come into situations where he can help us, like when we can't find the wallet and say a little prayer and he helps us find it and the car keys, but to expect him to heal sick children or stop wars or give more food for the starving is just too much. So please learn your Bible to see what god can and can't do.

Does he? What then is it that he does? Nothing apparently. Your god wants to do nothing. Do you know what that sounds like? No god at all.

Well, then, if we look at history to see what your "god" has done, "He knows best" means that "HE" is ever so much more evil than the imaginary persona of Satan.  Spanish Inquisition.  Crusades.  Black Death.  Persecution of scientists.  Misogyny.  Gleeful genocide.  Torture.  Ignorance. Slavery. The Holocaust.  -- More evil has been done in the name of He Who Knows Best than any other concept in history, and Oh All-Powerful He Who Knows Best did not even have enough power to inspire "his preachers/priests" to speak out against the evil done in his name.

It's almost as if he doesn't exist.

And if he's incapable of proving his own existence he isn't worth a millisecond of any human's thought processes.

He's passive-aggressive.

The truth is God is who He has been throughout eternity and because He is unchanging He will always be the same and I find great comfort in being able to know the only one who can claim such. God is always who He is and never what we try to make Him out to be in a self serving way.

To you that must be the way it seems, but remember things are not always as they seem. God is real He is working in this world and it's not God's fault that you have turned a blind eye to Him.

God haters will spew their hate even for all eternity and that has to be a terrible thing to have on ones back. all those things you mentioned were conceived and done by men, not God, who has given us a nature of free will. Also you have no idea what you are talking about and it's been established in many other post, so if hate is all you got I don't care to answer it anymore. Sensible conversation is more appealing.
