Let victims of mass shootings sue gun manufacturers as well as whatever business or individual sold the weapon to the perpatrator(s).  If your gun kills more than 3 people in an event, you should be held liable for damages.  Let them pay the hospital bills of the injured, let them pay the funeral expenses of the dead, and let them pay for the emotional distress their product has caused.

GOP basically passed laws back in the 90s to make that virtually impossible. No other product gets that immunity.

Not sue the gun companies but the shop/shops that sold them the guns on the basis that the background checks did not work.

Easy to type in a forum, mighty difficult to do when you're wondering if you'll make this month's rent. You're a counselor. Surely you're aware of Maslow's hierarchy.

The intruder would be in a house for, generously, an hour in his entire life. The residents live with the guns. This is why 34 innocent people die for every bad guy that gets shoot down. Guns are either ready for immediate use, and therefore not safe, or they're safe, and therefore not ready for immediate use. The FBI tells us that the most dangerous intruders are the ones who come when they KNOW people will be home. They are looking for a confrontation. They're ready, they initiate the event, not the resident.

The thing people need to defend their family from is their own poor decisions.

And that is something for you to mandate? How would you address the issue?

THAT is the problem right there. NOT enough people are angry, and we have a GOP and industry and it's lobby killing people for PROFIT.

Joods, I like you, you know that. But his is one subject EVERYONE should be pissed about.

MY 1984 high school yearbook HAS A PICTURE of a mass shooting in it..

WHEN, that is my question to anyone reading this? WHEN is something going to get done about this, because ":Sell more and do nothing" isn't working.

36,000 firearm injuries and deaths on average per year. Billions of costs to tax payers in first responders, ER visits, injuries and deaths, and PTSD costs in mental illness in the surviving witnesses and the families of the dead. WHEN is this shit going to stop?

No Joods, I think EVERYONE should be angry and stay angry until this stops.

Came in expecting someone to lump suicides and murders together as a single statistic, didn't take long.

Yes i have lived in plenty of cities some with high crime rates(Mexico city )  . Never bought a gun . Yup i have confronted a intruder i scared him off by yelling .

Quote:Perhaps it is. And perhaps people actually use guns in self-defense. Statistics are argued in that event, but a floor of thousands of uses a year doesn't seem unlikely.
Or maybe they have been sold culture of fear .

Quote:In either case, your advice is pabulum, easy words. In the meantime plenty of folks are stuck in bad 'hoods. Would you deny them the right to defend themselves?
Yes i don't view defence as justification for Americans current gun policy . And if the fix is the democratic system then it's still needs to be fixed .

The thing is, liberals sell a culture of fear more than conservatives do. Or at least as much. For one, they lump suicides, accidents, and murders all as one stat, which is misleading. Also the same way that conservatives over emphasis terrorism, which kills just about no one, so do the left with mass shootings, which are less than 1% of total murders. But they dominate the news and the left way over blows them and, (as someone will undoubtedly do to me in a second) will call you terrible for pointing that out.

Nothing is better for fun sales than a Democrat in office. Gun sales are way down under trump.
