This is a stupid thread. Why do Christians think saying "This is the best religion" is a compelling argument?

You are not off to a good start here. Please try to remember we don't simply roll over. That, and there are thousands of religions worldwide and everyone thinks they got it correct. Get in line, take a number.

You atheists are just misguided; you need to let God into your life so that he can guide you to the light.

What need is there for being guided?  I find the light everyday, sometimes I even turn it on myself.  Taint no big deal.  

I don't think I have an aversion to your truth so much as I have a preference for my own.  I'm not expecting an afterlife but I like actual life just fine.  Do you have an aversion to actual life?

Oh my God, are you seriously using the "bible is true because the bible says so" argument? This seems to be the sort of thing you are saying right now.

You realize other religions have holy texts too, right?
Also, the bible is pretty much saying "It's true because I said so" which doesn't work. It needs to say why I should believe it, "because I said so" isn't a reason why.

That something is far-fetched does not mean it is necessarily wrong. But at the same time, why in the world would you assume that something that is far-fetched is true? That is a greater stretch.

Perhaps you should familiarize yourself with Occam's Razor. You have access to Google so I'm not going to bother with a link. Occam's Razor is the assertion that if there are multiple possible explanations to a phenomena, the simplest explanation is most likely to be true.

The simplest explanation to the universe (or multiverse) is that we have no idea of how it originated. Pulling an explanation out of your ass with no evidence has no validity at all. God/Jesus has no more credibility than Allah, nor Vishnu, nor the Flying Spaghetti Monster, nor the Invisible Pink Unicorn.

Not interesed in the topic but from what I read Occam's Razor is used by scientist to postulate theories not to chose answers. Am I wrong?

Given all other things equal, the more parsimonious explanation among two or more competing explanations is considered the more reasonable explanation. Whether it's really true or not is not what Occam's razor is used to determine.

By the way, pretty sure theories in science are NOT postulated, but rather "concluded" as an explanation for evidence discovered repeatedly and conclusively. Or at least they're not postulated in quantitative research.
