If these people could get Mary's story down while she was alive, why not get JC's words down first-person? She would have been 47-53 when he "died", and in those days a poor person would be ready to kick it at that age.

Yeah, but she is supposed to be alive when he died and present at the crucifixion. Seems like a logical source. Why not just record JC's words first hand is a different question, obviously there is no good reason. For that matter no good reason god wouldn't just tell us all directly himself.

This seems like a pretty small problem when you think about ALL the massive problems with.claiming the bible as divine.

Nah, G-C has his own set of rules.  His god is whatever he wants him to be.

Very convenient and also quite typical of the jesus freak mindset.

The faithful have their hands crammed so hard up gods ass it's really not surprising that he's a cranky bitch about everything.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I cheered some one up that way . . . .
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Even so, the fact that it wasn't noted at the time makes it seem silly to make such a claim. But we knew that.

Even if it was Bart Ehrman addresses the question here:

https://atheistforums.org/thread-53308-p...pid1696657

He's acknowledging that this horseshit was written decades later by people who were not there.  But he ignores the fact that the earliest xtian horseshit doesn't know anything about the godboy on earth and can't quite seem to admit to himself that most of this was just made up by later writers to fill in the literary blanks.

Quote:This was a mysterious period of oral transmission, when stories were circulating, both among eyewitnesses and, even more, among those who knew someone whose cousin had a neighbor who had once talked with a business associate whose mother had, just fifteen years earlier, spoken with an eyewitness who told her some things about Jesus.

Pure diarrhea.
