My dog is Chihuahua, Russell, and looks a little beagle too -- he's a rescue dog so I don't know -- but he will indeed jump, if there's a treat held a few feet off the floor. He will walk a few steps on hind legs too, with that proper motivation.

And don't get him started on squirrels.

Lexy went barn hunting today. They hide rats in different areas of a barn filled with hay bales and the dog has to find them all within a specified time. These are her introduction to the rats. No pics from the barn.

Yep, they are basically pet rats bred by the people that put on the hunts. They are very desentized to the dogs, don't react much.

Ziggy turned ten years old this week.  He is such a good boy.

I am certain that his family tree has an extra branch somewhere but that's probably a good thing because so far he hasn't shown signs of the heart issues common in the Cavalier breed.
